Exploring the attractive seashores of South Carolina through photography – Sullivan's Island

user @ajvest commented on half 1 of my SC seaside posts and suggested a couple of new locations for me to discover. I took his suggestion and ended up on the superbly quaint Sullivan's Island.

Sullivan's island changed into what i might believe the essence of what you photo when you see east coast shores. probably the most greatest issues about this area become the highly shallow sloped beach, which intended that you would be able to wade out somewhat a distance before it gets too deep.

The seaside is additionally very deep because of the slope, as within the distance from the water to the conclusion of the seaside is simply several hundred yards. i attempted to trap probably the most most interesting points of Sullivan's island through my photography.

When compared to Folly seaside, the place I went the day prior to this, the sands were a good deal whiter, and the beachfront changed into much calmer.

or not it's awesome how a good deal a beachfront can exchange if you stream just 15 miles away.

because of the flat slope on the seashore, water received caught round 50 yards up from the shoreline. It had been sitting within the sun all day, and whereas it wasn't deep, it turned into like a bit hot tub for my toes.

The shades simply popped out at me, and it changed into simply sitting within the center of a small sand dune fully on my own.

As someone who has explored each east and west coast beaches, there's a really evident difference. West coast shores have sharp cliffs and mountains, and their beachfronts are reasonably short. East coast beaches, on the other hand. are quaint and flat. You could stroll for miles alongside the ocean and in no way run into any barriers.

There was an attractive wooden going for walks direction to climb over the dunes to get to the main seashore.

Framed by way of the sand and thick plants, it made for a nice subject.

Like my last adventure, all of those photos were taken on an iPhone 6.

I left my Nikon at domestic and opted for the telephone camera to prove a point. it be now not the camera that makes a superb picture, or not it's the photographer. And confidently that mentality shines through in these photos.

I went into this location realizing there turned into a lighthouse, but i used to be expecting a quintessential east coast gentle condominium. i used to be pleasantly shocked to discover this an awful lot rougher tower lighthouse. whereas it be rough exterior and boxy design became sudden, I discovered elegance within the simplicity of it all.

All long-established images. that you may see my different adventures from the day past here as neatly.
